About 81% of homes in Golden Valley are owner occupied, which makes for quality neighborhoods. Very little new development here means a preservation of the existing community, and green space. Instead of more buildings going up, existing Golden Valley homes are being upgraded. The biggest housing boom occurred in the 1950s and 60s, and now most of those homes feature the latest in interior finishing details and modern appliances.

The origins of the city's name have been much disputed, but whether it was inspired by a valley full of daffodils in the sunset, ripe wheat, or a tribute to Ireland's Golden Vale, Golden Valley real estate is gorgeous, and only 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. It's home to the Golden Valley Country Club and Golf Course and the Brookview Public Golf Course.
